6.20.09 Betsy and Scott

We even took a few shots on the Mon incline!

The Grand Concourse was a real lighting challenge but we really pulled out all the stops. We actually had four lights to light them and the room!

Formal Family Pix at a Wedding: Often Overlooked but Important?
I will let you in on something; amongst photographers, there is a growing fear of taking formal posed family portraits at a wedding. I mean, let's face it, these are not the most fun or creative images that you will get on your wedding day! Unfortunately, for many photographers and hence, the couples who hire them, the result is often lackluster "just line 'em up" pictures of your family members at best and nothing at all at worst.
Now, many photographers claim that couples just don't care about these formal pictures anymore so they don't need to put much effort into them. However, those same photographers admit that the formal portraits are the most likely to be reordered by the couple or their families.
So, the question that I would like you, my loyal readers, to chime on is what do formal posed family portraits mean to you? What do they mean to your parents? What will they mean to your children and grandchildren?
Thanks in advance for your insights!

We're still here!
I know its been a while since I have posted anything, but things have been busy around here!
My wife, Heather, had our second daughter on April 1st 2009. Jillian Christine Kreke was born at 5:07pm, weighed 8lbs 5oz, and was 20 inches long. Mom and baby are doing just fine and Abby is thrilled with her new little sister.
We took Easter pictures of the girls a few days after we brought Jillian home. Abby was hamming it up for the camera as always. She loves to help her dad work and take pictures.
Lastly I though I would post some pictures of Abby dyeing Easter eggs. She had a blast doing it this year. She was even kissing the eggs after she dyed them.
